What is FiberTower’s mission?
FiberTower’s mission is to solve the backhaul bottleneck and enable wireless carriers to profitably deliver voice, data and video services over their 2G, 3G and 4G networks. Through its combination of wireless spectrum and fiber technology, FiberTower is recognized as the leading alternative backhaul service provider in the United States.

What does FiberTower do?
FiberTower transports backhaul traffic for cellular carriers utilizing a hybrid architecture consisting of microwave spectrum and fiber technology. Backhaul is generally defined as the transport “pipe” between a carrier cell site (i.e. tower or rooftop) and a carrier switch. While the majority of backhaul networks currently utilize legacy copper T-1 circuits provisioned by the incumbent LEC, mobile carriers are increasingly looking to “alternative” backhaul solutions to manage the increasing costs, bandwidth demands and operational challenges brought on by the delivery of 3G and 4G services.

How does FiberTower make money? What is driving the company's growth?
Today, FiberTower generates revenue by providing backhaul transport service, typically in T1 increments, to cellular carriers. Customer contracts are generally five years in duration.

The company’s growth is being driven by continued success of 2G services, the rapid rollout of 3G networks, and the beginning of 4G.
